Martin Rapold was born in 1973 and was raised in Schaffhausen. Originally he worked as an independent journalist. After taking classical singing classes he attended the film- and TV acting school EFAS (Europen Film Acting School) in Zurich from 1995 to 1998.
With his first film, the media thriller Exklusiv, Marin Rapold had his break through. As a result of his brilliant acting performance the European Film Promotion invited him to the Berlinale as part of their Shooting Star event.
Since then Martin Rapold has been regularly shooting film and TV projects in Switzerland and Germany. Among others he was seen in the successful Sat.1 series Mit Herz und Handschellen.
Martin Rapold has also experience on stage. In 2004 he played a part in Dani Levy's play Freie Sicht aufs Meer at the theater in Basel.
